America's Next Top Model yes or no?(edit)

Journal Entry: Mon Mar 12, 2007, 6:06 AM
Because a handful of my friends have said they think i should and i am however uncertain i'm going to ask you all. Should i try out for America's Next Top Model cycle 9?

Things to consider:
+pros: it holds the possibilty of doing everything i never got to do with my modeling career before. High fashion, runway, and weird unique editorial shoots. The chance to be a part of something beautiful. The parts of the industry that i worked for 6 years and spent $20,000+ trying to achieve and never making it.

+cons: after my retirement from modeling i'm sort of over it and indifferent. And i'm really enjoying school i was accepted into a graphic design program with a waitlist...and America's Next Top Model would potentially take me away from that.

I need to make a desicion by this coming saturday when i will need to make the trip down to Chicago for the casting call.

I'm making a poll [link] ...vote, tell me what you think?

---edit---
First let me say thanks for all the feedback i've received so far. I'm taking all of your comments to heart and appreciate your support. There is something additional i'd like to address however and that is that I've seen this come up a lot in your comments and i want to also clarify that I have already put school on hold for 3+ years for modeling, and went nowhere, so to me an additional year is kind of a big deal. Thusly adding to my hesitation with re-entering the modeling world. I'm not trying to be a downer i'm just trying to give you all a little more insight into my dilemma.

I think the question to ask is, if you don't try it will it bug you the rest of your life or at least for a considerable amount of time? Or at the very least when the new season comes on and see you see a bunch of annoying people you know you are better than?
I'd say what the hell and try it.

see that's why i'm torn...becuase i'm not sure i would regret just passing it up and going to school. And i'm not sure i could live with 12 bitchy catty girls who are all competitive and cut throat because honestly...i'd just be there enjoying the shoots and not trying to edge anyone out.

it would get you some publicity...but it would be tough...you'd pull through...and you'd really learn some stuff...and then there would always be cycle 10...but it depends on how much you love school...I say go for it.

Well, that may be the key to winning it you know? Also I'm not 100% familiar with the show but is it all on show judges or is their audience voting at some point of it like Idol and other things? If there is there's 4 million potential votes here =p

Go for it. I'm sure you could get the school to put your enrollment on hold instead of terminating your student status if you promised to mention them in your interview(s) somewhere along the line. That's free national primetime advertising.

i say go for it, you're very talented and it's a shame if you don't give modeling one more shot. School will be there before and after, and you're never too old to learn, so I say good luck and give it ur best!
